For today’s meditation you’re going to imagine your best possible self. The YOU that exists that already has the material thing you are longing for, already has the body you want, already achieved the accomplishments, or possesses the personality traits you want.
If you’ve read my article about meditation you know that science has proven that Transcendental Meditation is the only kind scientists have proven to have health benefits that they can measure. BUT there is one more kind of meditation that has some definitive science behind it. Imagining your best possible self! 🙂
So for today I want you to pick just a few things to focus on. We all have a myriad of things that we would like to have, change, or accomplish in this lifetime. But in order to get the most out of this exercise we want to hone in on some goals or wants that are closer to the now.
Pick 2-4 things that you are currently wanting, or that could be attained in the near future.
Then relax yourself into your meditative state. You can use any method you like to get to this state. Some people like to focus on their breath, some count down from a certain number like backwards from 100 etc… If you would like a great mind experience to get you to this state I highly recommend my beginner’s meditation found HERE.
Once you’re all relaxed and clear of mind, imagine an image of yourself. You are doing your every day things but you have the 2-4 things that you decided to focus on.
What would change about your life if you had those things now? Would you look different? Would your house be different? Play with this and really imagine yourself with these things. Imagine your best possible self in this way. Your best possible self would be calm, capable and doing the things you like to do, and having the things you like to have. 🙂
Have fun with this. You don’t have to spend forever in that state. Just 10 minutes twice per day is enough to get amazing benefit from it.
